Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’, sometimes-called ‘stonecrop’, is a perennial favorite in rock gardens. Its also one of the most popular choices of drought-tolerant perennials.

The sedum has pink, yellow or orange umbrella-like flower heads that change to a rosy red in the fall and make a wonderful contrast with its green foliage. It blooms from July to September, and adds a lot of color to the late summer and fall garden. The flowers are excellent cut flowers.

Autumn Joy’s foliage consists of succulent leaves in whorls. The leaves are sometimes variegated and can range in color from bluish-green or greenish-yellow to reddish-pink or almost off-white.

Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’ needs to be planted in full sun in well-drained soil. It is easy to grow and will tolerate most soil types and is drought resistant. It is also a great butterfly and bee attractor and is disease resistant. The plant has a height of 18" and a spread of 18-24".

Garden Merit.
