"YOU can help save lives and make ALL cats precious again by donating to our spay/neuter program TODAY!"

$

POPPA, Inc. is proud to have been directly responsible for funding 18,532 spay and neuter surgeries throughout the State of Oregon since our inception in September 2001 (with 792 of those being done this year--2010).

It was therefore with GREAT PLEASURE that we passed the torch for the Portland Metro Area to the Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland (ASAPmetro.org) and their ambitious 'Spay and Save' Program whose mandate is to fix 10,000 cats in the Portland Metro Area EACH and EVERY year.

This does NOT mean POPPA is closing up shop, oh no, there are still too many cats being abandoned, abused, and/or killed needlessly in Oregon shelters simply for lack of homes. Especially in the counties of Linn/Benton and Yamhill where low-cost spay/neuter options are not readily available. So we will continue to refer needy cat caregivers to low-cost spay/neuter options throughout the state, but now will use our remaining funds to assist ONLY with funding these surgeries for cats residing in Linn/Benton and Yamhill counties.

Actually, through careful planning and diligent accounting practices, we figure POPPA, Inc. will continue funding feline spay/neuter through July of 2013. This is why POPPA, Inc. has continued to operate past our 10-year deadline... we simply feel obligated to continue our programs because the people who entrusted funds to us--private donors, grant organizations, municipalities--the City of Albany, estate legacies, and assorted charitable fund drives, share our vision of Oregon being a place where ALL cats are precious again.

Find low-cost spay/neuter options in your area.
