Shop for plants for your garden as it is the best time to get things in the ground.  While you are here visit our gift shop to purchase items made from recycled products.

Tom Cat Special 2004

For the third year in a row POPPA is teaming up with area veterinarians and other animal welfare groups for the Tom Cat Special 2004. Every year the event gets bigger.   In the past two years the event has been responsible for over 800 cats being neutered or spayed.

Fall Digs

Note: View our volunteer calendar for the most up to date schedule. Most digs are scheduled for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.   At long last we're getting a break from the heat and can start digging new stock once again. Already our dig list consists of over 20 houses with plant material we'll be saving from the compost pile (or the dump) and it continues to grow weekly.

PLEASE, if you are available during the week, have a strong back and like to play in the mud (we dig no matter the weather), contact us to sign up as a Dig Crew volunteer. Don't for a moment think you're not qualified as the current crew consists of a half dozen grandmothers with shovels, ANY help is really invaluable, even if it's just loaning us your truck to haul stuff back to Recycled Gardens!    Why should you even consider doing such hard work? Because Dig Crew volunteers get to tour lots of interesting gardens, meet wonderfully generous gardeners, and often take home loads of great plant material as 'compensation' for their labor.

Potting Parties :: Saturdays 10:00 - 4:00pm through March

RG's youngest volunteer, Kira Cyr, looks for deadheads to pluck amongst the Spring bulbs.

Saturdays ONLY from 10-4, through March, we divide and pot up the huge quantity of plants we take in as donations from Nov-March.

Skills Needed: Basic knowledge of plant propagation, though this can be learned hands-on if one is willing.
